Cable Shield for the SR7
Many
Six Chuter SR7s were sold without the passenger foot pegs that I understand
are now standard equipment. The obvious place for the passenger to put
their feet is on the CG tubes. The position of the throttle quadrant is
such that it would be possible for the passenger to damage the cables with
his/her feet.
To provide more space for those big footed passengers I first cut down the plastic spacer block between the fiberglass seat structure, and the throttle quadrant, narrowing it from about 1.5" to 3/4". Then I made a small, light shield out of some extruded aluminum, and secured it to the fiberglass seat frame with 3/16" pop rivets. Here is a photo to illustrate the basic idea. |
